In Borana, Ethiopia, young women dance for the ceremony and elections of the Gada system that takes place every 8 years. A traditional system of governance used by the Oromo, alongside the state system. It governs the political, economic, social and religious activities of the community. This tribal and democratic election has been practiced for over 600 years.
